Ksenia matrix BUS  integration with Optex sensors ? How does that work?

The answer is simple and brilliant.

Ksenia matrix BUS module is designed to do be able to integrate with Optex wireless sensors, and It Can Do Even More!

The advantages of BUS interfaces systems likely don’t need much explanation:

The simple daisy-chain topology, the software-based accessibility of devices, and the central configuration of their parameters save both time and energy. Moreover, in the vast majority of cases, it also saves money for both the installer and the customer. To summarize even more simply: fewer cables, more control. Not to mention how much more elegant it is to adjust a sensor using a laptop than by climbing up a ladder...

The design logic and structure of alarm systems usually follow the concept that the manufacturer of the control panel and the BUS-connected sensors are the same—since the communication protocol of the BUS varies between manufacturers.

However, thanks to the collaboration between Ksenia and Optex, this rule no longer applies here!

Collaboration Between Ksenia and Optex

We now have the option to directly integrate certain battery-powered Optex detectors (BXS-R/RAM, VXS-RAM/RDAM, WXI-R/RAM, WXS-R/RAM/RDAM, QXI-R/RDT) into the Ksenia BUS. This can be done using the cable provided with the module, which simply connects to the serial port of the detector, and the BUS-connection is ready. Moreover, these detectors represent the absolute top tier in terms of both design and reliability.

Thanks to the small size of the Matrix BUS, it can be comfortably housed inside the Optex detector, requiring no additional enclosure, thus fully meeting aesthetic expectations as well.

This solution ensures full compatibility, including power supply. All parameters of the detector are accessible and adjustable through Ksenia’s configuration interfaces!

Additionally, the Module Offers Another Mode: It Can Be Used in Universal Mode to Integrate Relay Detectors. Not only can you connect a simple contact to it, but you can also select the value of the end-of-line resistor.

To use the universal mode, the device needs to be configured, meaning the two modes cannot be used simultaneously. Another special feature is that the Matrix BUS power output can be remotely turned on and off, allowing the connected detector to be reset. This is particularly useful when integrating a smoke detector. Depending on the type of control panel, 4 to 64 units can be used in a single system.
